Phillip John Eckert September 14, 1935 - April 6, 2011

Phillip John Eckert, age 75, of Austin, Texas, died on Wednesday, April 6, 2011.

Phillip J. Eckert was born on September 14, 1935, in Racine, Wisconsin, to Theodore and Flora (Frank) Eckert. He graduated from William Horlick High School and joined the United States Army and served his duty in Korea. Upon returning to Racine from the Army, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Dreux Air Base outside of Paris, France. During his time in France, he met his loving wife, Antoinette M. (Cases) Eckert.

Phillip worked at S. C. Johnson Wax for 32 years. He retired to Austin, Texas, in 1993.

Phillip is survived by his wife of 49 years, Antoinette M. Eckert; his daughter, Evelyn F. (Eckert) Renish, and her husband, Michael A. Renish; and two grandsons: Anthony M. Renish and Alexander M. Renish. Phillip is also survived by his brother, Robert Eckert (Kathy Eckert), sister, Dorothy Lowe, sisters-in-law: Therese Boivin, Josefine Cases, and Mercedes Perrot (Michel) and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held for friends and neighbors at his residence on Saturday, April 23, 2011. An additional memorial service and burial will be held in Racine, Wisconsin, in July, 2011. Please contact the family for details.

The family wishes to thank his many doctors and caregivers. Phillip had many wonderful neighbors for which he was most thankful for their friendship and support.
